June is a special month of the year. Already we are approaching the half-way mark of 2019. Jesus spent  three short years in his ministry, but those three years made the difference for all of eternity for our lives. Those three years brought disciples into the ministry that later would give their lives before they would reject this one that had called them and endowed his  spirit upon them. Their ministry was so strong that it swept the known world and literally thousands were brought to Jesus. Today, we see that message that causes men and women to repent of their sins and be saved from the judgement is being swept under the rug and treated as if there is no judgement to fear. Many long nights I have pondered where this kind of thinking
must have come from. This same Jesus that bought and paid for my salvation paid for their salvation also. Without a doubt, he paid the full price and our lives are secure in him. When I hear
someone say that they are a self-made individual and that they don’t need the Lord, my heart goes kind of sick. I have found that daily I need the Lord and the wonderful thing about the Lord is
that he is always ready to pardon my short comings, fix my problems, and heal my illnesses. Those who think they don’t need Jesus in this fast-paced society that we live in are only fooling
themselves. The Word says they are believing a lie and will be dammed. Not a pretty sight. There are many ways here in 2019, but there is only one way that leads home. So many arc seeking
wealth fame, and long life; but there is only one way to finding those. The Way is simple: Come to Jesus. Believe that Jesus is who He says He is and call upon him; repent of your sins, and ask
him to come into your heart. Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life. And in my father’s house are many mansions I am going to prepare one for you.” The God of creation, of the
heavens and earth, is personally seeing that your mansion is ready.

Rev. Richard and Rosie Deckard

Rita’s Review

June is here. And with it comes the beginning of summer, the lightening bugs and sounds of crickets. We enjoy picnics, boating, swimming and an occasional ice cream treat. But let us
not forget, that we celebrate our fathers in June too. This was the first year in a long time that we didn’t have anyone in the back seat as we took our annual vacation. I can remember looking over and seeing a look of satisfaction on Ron’s face as he would check the rearview mirror and see a couple of long-haired tan bodies in the back seat, usually asleep and waiting to arrive at the destination. Now and then (this year) he would mention the seats being empty and how glad he was that we were able to enjoy as much time together as we did. His love for our children goes deeper than any words I can express in this article. The scripture tells us that our Heavenly Father is watching over us too. He longs to have a relationship that is deep and personal and of course,
eternal. His concern for our future is much more than planning for college, or beyond. No, his concern is for our eternal destination. Jesus came and paved the way that we could follow his
teaching, and his life so that we too could make our home in Heaven someday. What a reunion time it will be when we gather together with Jesus and our loved ones who have gone on
before! -rita
